Gurusikh Mall
Located on the sixth and seventh floor of an existing shopping mall, the cinema for 455 media seats is aimed at millennials, known for an outside-the-box approach to interior design.A variety of themes is immediately apparent on entering the cinema floor, where the food court and counter unfold as an undulating landscape crafted in brickwork and plaster of Paris.
The floor space includes two theaters and a centralized space which includes the food court area and the staircase and lift space made of dynamic wall paneling and ceiling. The above floor consists of a VIP lounge area with retro-styled seating and lighting.
As cinemas are of dynamic and vibrant character, the whole project is a multi-collaboration of forms, textures, colors, panellings, finishes, and styles. The organic curvilinear forms create folds and edges across a sequence of carefully considered spaces that flows from one space to another. The whole waiting area including the food counter is dominated by mainly a golden-colored ceiling and cladding, inlay with black-colored flooring acting as a guiding element, towards the spaces. Sculptural organic forms are extending from the ceiling towards different parts of the space as if they have lives of their own.
